Real education involves far more than just academic learning. It is vital for children to gain practical life skills and to learn how to apply their 'head knowledge' to real life situations. Teambuilding/problem solving activities can form a key part of your school's 'broad and balanced curriculum', ensuring that students are better equipped for life and enabling them to enjoy school and adult life to the full (in line with the new Ofsted inspection framework!). We can provide a wide range of enjoyable and challenging activities which help to promote:
N.B. We also offer teambuilding sessions for staff. The activities are chosen carefully to ensure that everyone is involved, and in a fun and non-threatening way so that staff feel relaxed and can build positive relationships, trust, and understanding together.
We can either base activities in your own school grounds or at an external venue (we often use venues such as Allerthorpe Lakeland Park, near Pocklington or Welton Waters Activity Centre, near Brough for large scale Outdoor Team Challenge events, involving pupils from various schools).
Outdoor learning normally involves considerable physical, as well mental activity, so many schools justifiably use Sports Premium funding to help pay for these activities. To reduce costs further, why not arrange a training course with other schools in your cluster.
We aim to ensure that our activities are accessible and affordable for all. To find out more, please call us on 07546272326 or email outdoorlearning4schools@gmail.com
"The Outdoor Team Challenge day is one of the highlights of our year. A fantastic opportunity to get out of the classroom and experience the great outdoors, the teambuilding activities are enjoyed by everyone, regardless of ability. It is a truly inclusive day when the class can work together as equals – Taff has always offered challenges and tasks that can be accessed and enjoyed by all, encouraging everyone to work together in whatever way they can. The days are great fun. Most of my pupils will never before have experienced lighting a fire, building a shelter, or paddling in a canoe, and these are precious moments for them. It is a time when staff and pupils can truly work together and help each other; we use the days in the summer term as a transition opportunity to get to know and bond as a new class teams. And the smiles on the photos we all love looking at afterwards say it all"

"Taff's Outdoor Team Challenge day is an amazing experience for pupils. We have taken groups along for the last six years. They learn so much that is impossible to achieve in the classroom, and the impact on confidence, teamwork and problem-solving mentalities has a long-term impact back in school. Sometimes, the children you may least expect become the voice of reason and logic in a group; children truly learn to communicate, use everyone's strengths, and help their whole team to conquer challenges together. Every year, the trip is the number one memory for most of our Year 5 children"
